“The forecast slips.
Our promise stands.”

The latest forecast falls two days after your commitment date.

Time to follow up, adjust the plan, or speak to the client.

Illustrative drift notification, based on a recorded commitment and a later forecast.

You delegate the work.
Why do you still chase it?

The promise you make in an email. The delivery date you set in a project. The reason you agree to an exception.

A missed follow-up, a slipping deadline, or an overlooked detail can put a promise at risk. The information sits across your business, and everyone still expects you to connect it in time.

“Who’s following up?”

“Are we still on track?”

“Does this need me?”

See the warning signs.
Act while you can change the outcome.

Keep the context. Find the answer. Notice the change.

Remember what you promise. Find the supporting context. Driftinel notifies you when progress starts to drift, while you can still respond.

Keep the context.
Not just the document.

“Here’s why this exception matters.”

Capture your promises, the reasons behind your decisions, and the details that never reach a formal file. Keep the context you need to follow through.

Put it down. Pick it up when you need it.

See when
plans drift.

“That forecast slips past our commitment date.”

Driftinel watches the channels you choose for signs that a promise or plan is slipping. Notifications bring the change and supporting evidence to your attention so you can follow up before the problem grows.

Time to act. Evidence to guide you.

In development.

Driftinel is in development as a secure, turnkey managed service combining business memory, search, ongoing monitoring, and drift notifications.

A managed server and approved integrations keep monitoring running independently of the owner’s laptop. Driftinel is not yet available to purchase or join through an early-access program.

The essentials.

How the managed service works, what you control, and what is still in development.

What is Driftinel?

Driftinel is a turnkey managed service in development that helps business owners keep their promises. It monitors the business channels each client chooses and flags emerging drift with supporting evidence, giving owners time to act before missed deadlines or overlooked details become costly mistakes.

Do I need to keep my laptop on?

No. Driftinel runs on a server we provision for your business. Monitoring continues independently of your laptop or browser, subject to the server and source connections remaining operational.

What does turnkey mean?

We provision, configure, and manage the server environment, connect agreed sources, and set up monitoring and notifications. You approve what the service can access and what it watches. We define the service scope and support arrangements with you before activation.

What can Driftinel connect to?

Driftinel connects to selected business sources, such as email, documents, and project systems, through supported integrations. We confirm the sources and integrations for your service during setup.

What can I ask it to remember or find?

Record decisions, commitments, and context, then ask questions across that memory and approved connected information. Answers include sources you can inspect.

How often does Driftinel check?

Driftinel checks your chosen business channels every 14 minutes. That’s just over 100 checks a day, so you can get on with yours.

How does Driftinel notify me?

Driftinel sends notifications through the channel you agree with us during setup. Each notification points you to the change and its supporting evidence, so you can review it and decide what to do.

How do I know whether monitoring works?

Driftinel distinguishes findings that need attention, completed checks that find no exceptions, and incomplete visibility. It flags failed connections and unfinished checks, so you can see where monitoring needs attention. Silence alone is not an all-clear.

Where does Driftinel keep my information?

Driftinel keeps your business information in the server environment we provision for your service. We agree on hosting location, access, and data-handling requirements with you during setup.

Does AI processing run on the server or use a cloud provider?

We assess server-based inference and external model services against your requirements and agree on processing arrangements with you during setup. You explicitly approve any external processing and the information it can access.

Does Driftinel take action automatically?

Driftinel observes and informs. You review the evidence and decide what happens next.

Why is it called Driftinel?

Driftinel combines “drift” and “sentinel.” The name reflects its purpose: to keep important context within reach and watch for meaningful changes while there is still time to respond.

Is Driftinel available yet?

Driftinel is in development. We develop and validate the managed service, integrations, and monitoring coverage. Purchasing and early-access applications are not yet open.

Recognize change.
Keep the purpose in view.

James Burchill, Systems Architect, CTO, and bestselling author, is the founder of Driftinel.

Driftinel addresses a recurring pattern I encounter across business and technology: important context scatters, small changes accumulate, and the gap between your intentions and what happens becomes harder to see.

Driftinel applies the thinking behind Because Drift Happens™ to the information a business owner chooses to bring into view. The aim is to help business owners keep their promises and recognize problems while there is still time to avoid costly mistakes.
